As an EPOS user, we require a more efficient and user-friendly method for managing the availability of ale products on the till interface. Our business sells a high volume and variety of ales, with availability changing frequently throughout the day.
Current Challenge:
Currently, to update which ales are active or inactive on the EPOS, staff must:
Access the back-of-house system.
Manually change the button configuration.
Push a package to the tills.
This process:
Requires staff to leave the bar area, reducing operational efficiency.
Temporarily disables the EPOS while the package is being implemented.
Is not practical for frequent changes throughout the day.
An alternative approach — displaying all possible ales and marking unavailable ones as out of stock — is also problematic:
The number of ales clutters the interface.
It’s visually unappealing and difficult for staff to navigate.
Increases the risk of user error during service.
Previous Functionality:
On our previous POS system, we had the ability to toggle products on and off for sale directly from the till interface. These changes were reflected immediately without the need to push a package or access the back office.
Request:
We are requesting the development of a more streamlined solution for managing ale availability on the EPOS. Ideally, this would include:
A front-end toggle or control to activate/deactivate ale buttons in real time.
Immediate reflection of changes on the EPOS without requiring a package push.
A user-friendly interface that supports high product turnover without clutter.
Additional Notes:
We have already explored this with your support teams but have not found a suitable workaround. We would appreciate any suggestions or confirmation on whether this type of functionality could be developed or if alternative solutions are available. Background:
